“MEET ME AT MELT on Thursday August 29, 2019!”
We are thrilled to announce that CLEVELAND VEGAN SOCIETY and MELT BAR & GRILLED are teaming up for a fundraiser to benefit CLEVELAND VEGFEST 2020!
On August 29, please join us for a DINE TO DONATE event at ANY of Melt Bar and Grilled’s 10 locations, which include Lakewood, Cleveland Heights, Independence, Mentor, Avon, Akron, Canton, Short North, Easton, and Dayton. (Hours may vary by location, so please call ahead.)
Here’s how it works:
You can dine-in with friends and family, invite your neighbor for snacks and a beer, order take-out for you and your dog, hit happy hour with your co-workers, meet your date for dinner and drinks, celebrate a birthday, plan a meet-up, even purchase some cool Melt merch, and MELT will GIVE BACK 20% of your total bill to CLEVELAND VEGAN SOCIETY! WOW! All you have to do is let your server know you are there for our fundraiser and present the event flier, either the printed version or in digital form on your mobile device! The flier can be found at this link.
So easy, so fun, and so delicious!
MELT has an extensive VEGAN menu featuring the comfiest of comfort foods, which you can enjoy along with their craft beers and signature cocktails in an eclectic and relaxed atmosphere.
What a great excuse (as if you need one!) to eat your way through Melt’s entire incredible vegan menu!
Are you unable to join the big fun at any of the 10 Melt locations on August 29, but you still want to be a part of making CLEVELAND VEGFEST 2020 happen? Please make a donation here:
A HUGE THANK YOU to MELT BAR & GRILLED for their outstanding generosity! It’s good to have a community partner like Melt.
Please share this event far and wide on all your social media accounts. Feel free to save the flier image to your camera roll and then text it to everyone in your contacts list or email to your entire address book!
Thank you so much to everyone for your support.
SEE YOU AT MELT ON AUGUST 29!
*The Fine Print*
Patrons must have either a physical or digital flier for their sales to count towards the total. Each guest check must have a flier
presented and MUST ALERT THEIR SERVER UPON ASKING FOR THEIR BILL that they are here for the fundraiser in order for their bill to be applied to the total raised. Sales credited to the fundraiser are for in-house purchases, carryout, in-house merchandise and alcohol. Please do not distribute the flier inside or outside of the restaurant.

The Elephant in the Room: How Animal Agriculture Impacts Climate Change, Environmental Depletion, Health and Other Critical Issues of Our Time
Nelli Johnson, JD
Jack McMillan, MSSA
We are all aware of, and deeply troubled by, the dire predictions of looming ecosystems collapse. We often feel powerless in the face of such an enormous crisis, all the while watching our governments continue to do little to address this urgent issue. Is there anything we ourselves can do to significantly mitigate climate change? The good news is yes there is. Animal agriculture is a leading driver behind climate change, biodiversity loss, rainforest destruction, species extinction, ocean depletion and acidification, waterways pollution, topsoil loss, and other critical environmental and societal issues facing us. Come learn more about this little-discussed topic that climate summits fail to address, and how a simple change to a plant-based diet is the single most impactful and realistic solution to our environmental crises. And that is very good news, indeed.
There will be a vegan reception and buffet immediately following the presentation.
This event is sponsored by the Cleveland Vegan Society and is free and open to the public.

Kiss me, I'm Irish...and Vegan!
Irish, or Irish just for the day, we invite all Vegans in the CLE to come have some Irish-Vegan fun by marching in Cleveland's St. Patrick's Day parade with us!
Join the Cleveland Vegan Society on Friday, March 17, 2017, for the 175th Cleveland's St. Patrick's Day Parade, as we march as a group, creating awareness of veganism in Cleveland. Join us as we show our city and 500,000 parade-goers that vegans are here and we are many!
Our parade unit will increase the visibility of vegans in CLE, intending to inspire the vegan-curious to seek more information, to motivate local businesses to become vegan-friendly, to increase awareness of Cleveland VegFest, to encourage current vegans to connect with Cleveland Vegan Society, and to reach out to other vegans in the community.
We will hold the Cleveland Vegan Society banner and carry individual signs with positive vegan messages. We are required to be in a group uniform (we will most likely use our VegFest Tees or print CVS tees for this purpose). The tees can be worn on top of lots of warm layers!
The parade steps off at 1:04 PM and lasts approximately 2 hours. We will gather before the parade for check-in, coffee and treats, sign-making, and getting in uniform. We are planning some Irish-Vegan shenanigans for after the parade!
